Join us for a vibrant and creative watercolor experience like no other at our Line & Wash Meetup! Embrace the beauty of imperfection as we explore the whimsical world of watercolor painting where coloring outside the lines isn't just permitted – it's encouraged!
Come along to our meetups to improve your art in a relaxed and social atmosphere and under the guidance of a professional instructor. Complete beginners to experienced artists all welcome.

Our 2 hour meetups are held in a different location each time, usually outdoors.

Bring your own materials. If you are a complete beginner all you need to start is a set of watercolour paints, brushes, and water container.

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to experienced artists. The instructor is there to help everyone.

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Phoenix Watercolor Group on Facebook to share your art and enjoy the art of other locals.
The instructor is wonderful and very knowledgeable.

The original sketch for this was sent out to members of the Let's Make Art group for Mother's Day. I painted my version using paints made by a small business in Colorado called Ruby Mountain Paint Co. For years I had been searching for the perfect pink paint for flowers, and finally found it!

I often sit with a sketchbook on my lap when watching tv a little substitute for drawing from life. Using a very thin paper sketchbook (Maruman Croquis), my fountain pens glide across this smooth paper. It is a pleasure for me to draw in it. Of course watercolor is tricky to use on this paper, but I'm not trying for a painting, but just add color because I love doing so.

Paul Clark provides a free watercolor tutorial on YouTube every Wednesday. I have been following those for the last few years. This was the tutorial from April 24. I learn something each time I follow one of these tutorials. And even if my painting is a total mess, I look for a point of joy that I can be proud of. In this one, I like the fisherman's reflection in the water.

I work in sketchbooks 98 of the time with my favorite pens. I prefer to draw live rather than from photos, so at night I find my characters on TV. Watercolor or other mixed media may find its way into the drawing, depending on which sketchbook I used. This was drawn in a Strathmore 500 series mixed media softcover book. The paper takes mixed media extremely well.

While visiting the local reclaimed wetlands at Mawson Lakes my son and I spotted and photographed a number of the birds and environment which I compiled into watercolour art. We have had a very dry summer and are awaiting much needed rain.

This is a water color painting based on a photo I took last year when visiting MT. Love the wide open spaces and the beautiful sky. This photo was taken while sitting and relaxing along a river in Bigfork. Love to enjoy the views and then incorporate into my paintings. Water colors are such a great choice for landscapes because of the way they flow and blend together just like nature.

At the age of 49, I decided to learn to paint. I have never even sketched or painted in my life. I love watercolor paintings so I started with that and I found that I love it. In February I committed to the 100 Day Project movement with D. Michelle Perry on her 100 Days of Wonder group. Each week she was giving us our Words of Wonder for each day. Day 35 was "Dew". I had already practiced water droplets for fun so I wanted to use them in a close up image of a leaf with dew on it. Th

I painted this cardinal happily perched on a teacup as a reminder. Through all of the stress and busyness of life it is so easy to get caught up in overthinking and ignore the small beautiful moments all around us like savoring a warm cup of tea, or noticing a tiny vibrant bird outside our window. 9x12 Watercolor

I enjoy walking through Australian forest , specially this one in Jarrahdale , small historic town located 45 km south-east of Perth. This place used to be a first timber town in WA. Today just place to enjoy scenic woodlands, parks, river and very pictures forest. The beauty of this forest gave me an idea to paint this picture.
